Arts & Culture
Cultural heritage is an expression of the soul of a people. Manifested through the likes of arts, including craft, fine art, music, performance, folklore and dance, it is a reflection of who we are and what we believe in. The Lopez Group supports arts and culture with a vision of strengthening national pride and consciousness toward nation building.

LVN Studios and the State of Post-War Cinema
28 September (Saturday) | 2:00-4:00 PM
Basement Auditorium, Ateneo Law School, Rockwell Drive
It was in the rubble of post-war Manila where big production houses, such as LVN Films began to restore their place in society as the foremost source of entertainment. The cultural shift brought about by the war was palpable in the films they produced: alongside their usual fare they began to create movies that encapsulated different aspects of the experience of the Japanese Occupation.
Join Nick Deocampo in LVN Studios and the State of Post-War Cinema as he rewinds to the studio houses of the 50s, glossy in their black and white film stills and pioneers in the chemical formula of creating love teams.
This program is part of HIGHLIGHTS a lecture series on understanding Philippine art forms presented by the Lopez Museum and Library and the Ateneo Art Gallery.
