In a country that is prone to typhoons and earthquakes it is not enough to rely on assistance from the government. The private companies should extend humanitarian assistance most especially because their employees, stake holders and communities may have been affected.
Whenever there is a disaster or a catastrophe, the Lopez Group of companies combines it resources to provide relief, support and assistance to the people affected by natural calamities and disasters. This is a practice which has been handed down from generation to generation and has become a part of the DNA of the Lopez Group of Companies.

EDC Brings Christmas Cheer to Two Beneficiaries
Volunteers from the Head Office of Energy Development Corporation visited the Missionaries of Charity-Home of Joy (located in Manila) and the Punduhan ng mga Dumagat (situated in Bulacan) last December 20, 2018 to deliver gifts of rice, toiletries, milk, sugar, laundry soap, and instant noodles to the said communities.
The Missionaries of Charity-Home of Joy is an institution that helps children (ranging from 2-12 years old) who are mostly afflicted with Tuberculosis and malnutrition, while the Punduhan ng mga Dumagat serves as a focal point, cultural and trading activities for the Agta-Bulos , Aeta or Dumagats tribes living within their traditional ancestral domain.
The gifts that were delivered were bought using funds gathered from collections in all the Holy Masses celebrated in One Corporate Center - including all the First Friday Masses and those offered during the annual "Nine Christmas Mornings" of the company.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, a heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shared their blessings and continue to support this annual employee volunteerism activity.
