20181011 operation sagip and filipino chinese community to build ten barrio schools

Operation Sagip of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. signed an agreement with the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) to build classrooms in far-flung areas.

Known for its flagship project called “Operation: Barrio Schools”, FCCCII will construct five units of classroom building, each with two classrooms with comfort rooms inside, in Operation Sagip identified areas.

“Initially, the target areas include Mindoro, Sulu, Pampanga, and Zamboanga,” Earl Bacabac, Operation Sagip’s Relief and Rehabilitation Head said.

Domingo Yap, the president of FFCCCII shared that the construction of the classroom buildings is made possible because of the donations from their officers and other members. “The Filipino-Chinese community wants to share their blessings to our public school students,” he expressed.

ALKFI’s Project and Donor Management Head/Chief of Staff, Josine Reyes, pointed out that Operation Sagip aims to build classrooms in calamity areas.

“This is one way where we are able to allow the children to rebuild their life again, their stability. So we want to provide them more classrooms that are conducive to study. So if you are a corporation that believes in providing education to children, you can donate to Operation Sagip,” she enthused.

Since 1961, “Operation: Barrio Schools” already turned over 5,500 units or more than 11,000 classrooms nationwide. On the other hand, Operation Sagip completed more than 500 classrooms, including Yolanda areas, since 2007.
