More than a thousand native seedlings and fruit-bearing trees were planted by First Balfour employees in a company-wide tree planting activity simultaneously held in Ilocos Norte, Rizal, Batangas, Leyte, and Albay last June 23.
Now on its third year, the simultaneous tree planting activity was held in celebration of the National Arbor Day which is observed throughout the nation every June 25.
From up north in Ilocos Norte to down south in Leyte, a variety of trees were planted in First Balfour’s host communities. The Burgos Overhead Transmission Line project management team (PMT) members planted 224 mahogany, acacia, and coconut trees in Brgy. Bobon in Burgos, Ilocos Norte while the LGBU Various Projects PMT planted 100 molave and narra trees in Brgy. Tagaytay in Kananga, Leyte.
Meanwhile in Southern Luzon, Project Horizon PMT members planted 300 guyabano trees in Brgy. Macabud in Rodriguez, Rizal while Head Office employees and PMT members of the FPIP Project planted 500 mangrove trees in the Lagadlarin Mangrove Sanctuary in Lobo, Batangas.
In Albay, 20 PMT members from the PGPC Tiwi Project along with community members and local government staff planted more than 200 seedlings of agoho tree in Brgy. Baybay.

The simultaneous tree planting activity is part of First Balfour Zero Hero, an environmental campaign aimed at challenging employees to give back to the environment by reducing their carbon footprint.
