ABS-CBN Kapamilya child celebrities Xia Vigor, Chunsa Jung, Xymon “Onyok” Pineda andMarco Masa starred the newest video for the environment.
The music video, entitled Batang Bibo ng Kalikasan, empowers the children and youth todo their part, big or small, for the environment. The four cute performers discouraged the public to use single – use plastic and instead, use lunch boxes, tumblers and other containers that can be reused.
According to World Animal Protection, eighty percent (80%) of microplastics are land – based sources like [water] bottles and [plastic] bags. Tonnes of plastics have clogged the tributaries, causing massive floods which killed many. The same plastics also caused many endemic species of sea animals dead.
The child performers, who are now the ambassadors of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya’s Bantay Kalikasan, also encouraged people and children to plant more trees and vegetables on their own backyards.
The campaign coincides with two momentous occasions, the 20th anniversary of Bantay Kalikasan and the declaration of January as the Zero Waste Month. Bantay Kalikasan is also set to hold a Recyclables Event on January 28 at the Center Road of ABS-CBN Compound. Employees are encouraged to donate their used PET bottles, papers, cartons, styro, metal objects, defective office supplies (calculator, stapler, pens), empty glass bottles andaluminium waste (canned drink).
