Sta. Elena Golf and Country Estate in Cabuyao, Laguna is now a proud host of threatened native tree species. Sta. Elena is the Energy Development Corporation’s (EDC) 164th partner through its flagship reforestation program, BINHI, to protect and propagate threatened native trees. A hundred seedlings of these rare and threatened native trees were planted in the Sta. Elena property. The BINHI program aims to preserve and propagate premium threatened native tree species. Lopez Group Foundation, Inc. (LGFI) Executive Director Mercedes Lopez-Vargas, Sta. Elena Golf and Country Estate President Rico Tantoco, and EDC Corporate Social Responsibility Head Atty. Allan Barcena are joined by Mr. Tantoco’s grandson Baobao as they made the partnership official, planting trees for the future generations.
