The “Business Excellence” squad, composed of players from ABS-CBN, SKY Cable, and Knowledge Channel bagged the Team Overall crown as it dominated the recently-concluded 2016 Lopez Group Badminton Tournament last July 23, which was held at the Centro Atletico in Cubao, Quezon City.
Finishing second was the “A Pioneering Entrepreneurial Spirit” contingent represented by employees from the Energy Development Corporation and Lopez Holdings Corporation, and rounding up on third spot was Team “Unity” from Rockwell, Asian Eye Institute, and FPIC.
“Employee Welfare & Wellness” (Lopez Inc, / Adtel / INAEC / Infopro Business Solution / TG Services) and “Nationalism” (FPH / First Gen) wounded up at fourth, followed by “Social Justice” (First Balfour / FPIP) and “Integrity” (FPRC / ABS-CBN Logistics).
Meanwhile, the individual champions from each category were as follows:
- Men’s Doubles: Tony Alimon & Van Cliff Bacuyag (Business Excellence)
- Ladies Doubles: Danica Rueda & Mean Selga (Business Excellence)
- Mixed Doubles: Rey Briones & Reena Espiritu (Unity)
- Veterans Doubles: Bernard Lapuz & Winston Pioquinto
